PP/PS Barrier Sheet Extrusion Line

Based on our extensive experience in multilayer barrier sheet extrusion, we developed and manufactured China’s first five-layer co-extrusion line for high-barrier plastic sheets and have continued to improve this technology over the years. PP/PS barrier sheet extrusion lines use co-extrusion technology to combine PP or PS with EVOH barrier layers, creating multilayer sheets with different functional properties. The finished extruded sheets are widely used for food packaging applications such as jelly cups and yoghurt containers.
PP/PS barrier sheet extrusion lines include extruders, filters, melt pumps, FeedBlock, T-die, calender, automatic gap adjustment system, temperature control unit, edge trimming device, haul-off unit and winder. The extrusion line can also be equipped with an online thickness measurement system for real-time quality control. After forming, the sheets can be directly wound into rolls or connected to a thermoforming machine for continuous processing.

FeedBlock Model.
The co-extrusion feedblock is designed to keep each layer evenly distributed across the sheet. EVOH and ADH are kept out of both edge trims, so less barrier material is used, and the trimmed edges can be recycled online to reduce material costs.
Both edge trims can be recycled directly during production, with a separate pulling and tension control unit for each strip to keep the process stable.
The sheet thickness ranges from 0.7 to 3.6 mm, with tolerance controlled within ±1%. An optional thickness measuring system can monitor the EVOH layer in real time, which helps control material use and maintain barrier performance.
The extruder for the recycled-material layer is connected to a vacuum unit that removes air and gases during processing.
Our plastic extrusion systems cover applications from thin plastic sheets with a thickness of 0.02 mm to heavy-gauge boards up to 40 mm thick, with production widths exceeding 3 meters.
